When scientist Charles Graiman (Bruce Davison), inventor of the original Knight Industries Two Thousand featured in Knight Rider, is killed, his new creation, the Knight Industries Three Thousand (voiced by Val Kilmer) seeks out, upon his pre-programmed instructions, his daughter Sarah Graiman (Deanna Russo) and an ex-soldier named Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening). Together, this unlikely duo, with the help of KITT, protect Sarah from the men who killed her father. Along the way, they stumble onto a sinister plot to commandeer nuclear missiles using Graiman’s research. It turns out that they want Sarah to help decrypt her father’s files. Faced with the challenge of not only eluding the murderers but also thwarting their plans, Sarah and Charles embark upon a fast-paced adventure that takes them to none other than Las Vegas.
